also how do you think this plane would work with two edf 55's?I would probly mount them on either side of the plane underneath the wings.

I hope someone responds and say they already done this, I have one myself and I loved flying it, I miss flying it I would love to make it Electric. But I know I would never get my 110 mph + out of it buit o well.

Here is a Viper 500 quickie racing plane.
This is the easiest conversion that I have ever done. The motor mount uses the blind nuts that are installed at the factory. I simple cut a plywood bulkhead and used pieces of 6-32 all thread and some nuts to create a stable and adjustable mount in only a few minutes. The plane weights 3 lbs 9 1/8 oz ready to fly. It is powered by a Mega 22/30/3 on Kokam 3S1P 2100 (20C) cells. I used a Master Airscrew 9x8 plastic prop because it had to cut through some high grass at the field. I want to try other props when I don't have to mow the runway. This configuration shows 30 amps on a Watt meter. The plane tracks like it is on rails and appears to be traveling about 80 mph. Now I just need to add some graphics to the plane.

That is a sweet looking setup,Myne is the low wing version and it hasn't even been finished. I havn't even put the monokote on it yet. It is just the frame of it with the controls in there.I need to learn how to fly before i attempt this one.

JJ23, did you ever get this project done. Which Q 500 kit did you have? Do you want to sell it?
