Hi guys,

I wonder if anyone has any experience with the fsk F 16, I'd like to get one, and make it as a pusher, not impeller, as it will be too heavy i recon..
Thanks in advance..

had one, built it, pusher prop...flies well, and is one of the more scale models out there also...even flies fine on EDF.

actually ill go out on a limb and say it is the only ''scale'' F16 park flyer around.

That's great to hear, what setup did you use? brushless?
what was the all-up weihgt? Ik read something about 350gr, is it correct? And most imporant, vertical performance??:D I want it to go really up there, so you can fly it as a decent jet.
thanks, didier

some of the guys had brushed s400s and it flew fine. regarding brushless...how long is a piece of string?....cant recall AUW...want much.

if you want vert, find out the largest prop diam you can put on it, then work backwards from there. sorry i cant help you much on this one, the plane is at my friends house and has been for the last year or so.

Tim.

Didier,
There was a great build thread on the Styro F-16 on the Zone. I'm trying to locate it also. Maybe someone can help us out.

Hi Neal,

thx for the reply, i'm actually building one right now.It is 80% complete, just waiting for new lipo's to arrive so i can finish the bird. It was fun to build, went together quite well. I made new tailerons, to make them fully functional as per full-size. I've read an article in a french magazine where they made the same modification, and it flew great. I've used a 300-size brushless motor, 15amp max, is also used in impellers, so it runs about 35000rpm. I'm doing pusher prop, it's easy and reduces weight. It shoul go vertical like a missile...i hope.
I'll let you all know when it's done..

Hey Neal,

I'm back already, i've found the tread on the E zone,
http://www.hobby-lobby.com/f16instructions.htm
It is made different than mine, specially the tailerons, but i liked the canopy holding system. I'll be using it also. Hope this helps...

Just read a post about a 40A Alfa EDF FS F-16 that goes over 100 and fast unlimited vert. uses a cutdown Wattage Power fan rotor with every other blade remove, and motivated by a Mega 16/7/3.

Sorry to sully this great site with this link but...

Justin,

Will an Alpha fan unit fit in the F-16 without any modifications? I've got a FS16, MKII fan, and 2025/5300 collecting dust.

I've built a FS-16 several years ago and switched it from a Vasa55 to WPF in an effort to find more thrust. It worked!
The alfafan will fit perfect in a FS-16. I wish they had the alfafan back in the day!

Yes. Perfect fit in my A-7 sitting here, and I'm sure the same for the F-16 (same size). I too crammed a WPF into the fuse to see how it would work. Just needed the inlet lip ground off.

I built the FS F16 using a microfan, Kokam Lipo's, and an Astro 010 a couple of years ago. I still have it and it has about 25 flights on it. It is very fragile but flys great.

Yep, I would go fan. HL has got them flying on the brushed BB Acro 280, so they should do well with a setup like the Microfan with a light motor like that Razor 300, without getting too heavy. Latest High C (not the fruit drink) lipos will give enough power at less than 2oz for the setup.

I have the X-Flight F-16 it's a little bit larger than FSK one but the same type of tail set up plus I added a rudder to it. AUW RTF with a 4S pack is 28.6 oz pulling 34 amps at 527 watts with a XL 55mm fan a 5100 Kv motor.

I built 2, 3 years ago. One was powered with speed 280 (weight 280 gr), the other with speed 300 (380 gr). They were both modified with monoblock pendular anhedral stab. (like the real one), and flew very well. The 280 version was perfect for beginners with jet pushers, the other was fastest (and heavyest) and needed best flying skills, esp. for landings. I think this jet will get unlimited vertical power and max.speed with the Littlescreamer Parkjet Special. This Viper is a great cheap jet !
