I think that guy actually thought he would stop that thing. That looked like it was back in the early 80's judging by the clothes and hair-doo :)

No offense to Kev's wardrobe.....

I guess you could say that pilot was coming in a little hot.

I hope her cast is off by now. Yikes, that had to hurt.

I thought it was a guy...

that plane didnt have flaps deployed, when did the 'more than 4' channel radios come about anyways?

That's an awefully ugly chick if it is.

I always keep a heads up and stand behind something solid when possible. I have seen some wicked stuff happening at the fields I've been to. :D

actually...

this is pretty much how it looked the other day when I was landing my camera stick...

I told the kids behind me to move, that I was landing. I brought it right down the road, set up for a perfect landing, and then as it passed me I saw it whack this girl who wouldn't move. The right wing hit her right in the thigh. No harm to plane or child. Hard to get hurt by a slow stick at landing speeds anyway.

usually yes, but this time it was flying very straight

I was in a tight area, pulled a u turn, flew under some powerlines, and in between the trees.

Powerlines? Trees are one thing, but powerlines? That seems rather, for lack of a better word, reckless.....never mind the damage that could come of your plane, what if you strike a line due to unforeseen circumstances?

I just can not imagine flying anywhere near a powerline.

I do it from under semis as they drive by the field.....it's a rather complex maneuver, start by diving under the trailer, then loop over the top, roll to upright and and fly away.

The truck driver may need to change his shorts, but then, that's part of the fun!

I had a 20' window to fit through. I was coming in on the glide slope without power, the telephone (we'll call them phone lines instead if that helps...) lines were a non issue at that point.

I figured with the successful return of WG1 (aka Wiggy), I would celebrate by proudly wearing this avatar.

Hey...it's election season...you can spin it any way you want.

Sometimes with a camera plane you dont have too many choices for the surroundings. I've had to fly around powerlines to get whatever shot I needed. As long as you know they are there its not to much a problem. Its when you didnt know they were there that causes problems. On alot of my aerial videos I am flying over some sort of power line, house, road, ect. Those are all no-no's in reality, I just try to do the best I can with what I have.

There are no innocent children.

They're monsters, little plane eating monsters, every last one of them!

My daughter is as innocent as they come, and I plan on keeping her away from the likes of you so she stays that way. :p
