I've been modifying my Lithium packs so that I can use my SKYVOLT 6S charger/balancer with them. One problem was finding the connectors like those used on PolyQuest and some others.
Pure Hobby www.purehobby.com offers the multi-pin connector that Polyquest uses and the one to mate with it. Now the next trick is to get a connector that interfaces with the one on the SKYVOT 6S. You may have to buy an extension from FMA and use the connector from it. I ended up with a short jumper with Polyquest on one end and the FMA Skyvolt system connector on the other.

I recently got some new Li-Polys 3S 2100s from www.MaxAmps.com (http://www.MaxAmps.com). WHAT A DEAL, BTW!!!

I had them put some wire tap leads on so that I could attach my own connector for my AstroFlight "Blinky" balancer. Are we searching for the same animal here? I'd like a 4 wire connector than I could solder on. Any thoughts?

Thanks ya'll!:)

Yes, we are talking the same thing. Here are some of the adapters I've made. Note BalancePro is the new name given to FMA SKYVOLT system.

Red,
I like the Kokam to Polyquest setup. Neat.

Red,
I need some help (I posted this question on the RSA site before I read this one). I have a Maxamps 8S2P pack with balance taps. I also have a Blinky. Is there a way to use the blinky on this pack? Could I do six cells and then come back and do the other 2 (or some such combination?). If the answer is "Yes" I may need some help with the wiring.

That's a tough one. 8 cells in series! I would be very careful trying to wire this one for balancing. It obviously can be done but I'm not at all comfortable giving advice from a distance. Does it have a balancing plug?

These appear to be the ones to mate with the Polyquest balance plugs, not the ones on the battery itself if that is what you are looking for.

Hi Red,
wow that was quick! The pack has taps(JST male) for each cell. You make your own patch cord.

Walt,
Talk to Austin at Max Amps. He just made me a JST to TP balancer cord for their 3S2P packs. Charged 5.99 + shipping. It wasn't worth messing around making one and not getting it right for that price. I'm sure he could make you what you need.

Rugar,
that's probably the best way to go. I'm a little hesitant as they had a helluva time handling a cash order (i.e. off the wife's radar).

Timely thread, Red. I'm planning to add balancing taps to my 3S packs and was wondering what 'brand' of taps to use.
