My eys has been caiught by adverts for this model as a possible subject for conversion to electric. Has anyone already done it, and if so what power train did you use and ow well did it fly?

TIA

Mike
My UK mates have subsequently advised that it a bit of a brick outhouse structure even with the IC set-up so electrifying it isn't the best idea I've ever had.

Mike,
If I recall correctly, this plane is almost identicle to the Kyosho Sukhoi. I converted one of those with a Mega 22/30/2 geared 4.6:1 on 5S. Wing loading was high, which made the landings hot and it would snap at low speeds, but other than that it flew scale and I like it. I think I still have a video.

By the way Mike(s) I have the new Hyperion Sukhoi Su31 built and ready to fly!!!! (for a upcomming review).

It is a beauty! This one is much smaller, but still should be fun.

Here is their pic of it...

I have their Decathlon - It is a GREAT quality kit and was an easy conversion

Bigfoot - that looks great. Do you have some spec on the conversion? Motor/esc battery weight etc?

I am most picky about the weight as there is little you can do with an ARF on that....

I dug up the video out of the archives.

Hey Mike!

It weighs in with battery at 6.25 lbs. Uses an AXI 2826/10 OUTRUNNER Brushless Motor and a Jeti Advance PLUS 70 Amp Opto Brushless Controller with
Program Card and with those controllers you need to use the Ultimate BEC with 6V Output.

For the battery I have the "Twenty" 4 cell 3300 mAh 14.8v lipo

The propr right now is an 11 x 8.5 APC, but I am going to move to a wood prop next.

Great video Mike - looks like it does not lack any roll authority!

Bigfoot - sounds like a great setup!
