I used a level laser pointer mounted on a leveled tripod to set up the GWS floats and set the relationship of the fuselage to the proper angle.
Once the floats were level I then elevated the center column of the tripod to check the angle of the fuselage. This method worked very well for me, hope it will shed some "light" for others.
The photos should help demonstrate this technique.

Which laser is it! I'm gonna get one pretty soon but the cheaper ones dont appear to do a line like yours is showing. The ones that go around walls are about $35. I believe thats what I want, correct? So far the craftsman looks like its best suited. Sits easily on the table and does a wide beam.
I'm about to mount some gws floats too, on a wattage cub. It'll also make doing a planes alignment easier.

Hi Edwin,
Heres a link to a source for the laser I used.
http://www.haband.com/jump.jsp?itemType=PRODUCT&itemID=3425

It sells for $4.99 from them but you can find other types on e-bay. Mine was a gift and I had no idea what it cost. At that price it is a GREAT value.
It really helped me getting the floats and plane set up properly.
Good luck.
