On this date back in 1916, eight Curtis "Jenny" planes of the First Aero Squadron took off from Columbus, NM in the first combat air mission in US history.

They flew a support mission for 7,000 US troops who invaded Mexico to capture Mexican revolutionary Pancho Villa.

Its great to own a model with such historical value. Here is mine, I've always liked the looks of the Jenny -
