What do you guys think about this heli compared to the T-rex 450se v2?
And is it as aerobatic as the t-rex? (http://cgi.ebay.com/Falcon-400-SE-3D-6-Channel-Aerobatic-R-C-Helicopter_W0QQitemZ230232443894QQihZ013QQcategory Z2563QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem)

This looks like a dressed up Falcon 40

Lots of metal parts......The two things that I see that
won't measure up to the TREX is that it does NOT have
CCPM for the collective--it has a servo mounted on the
right side and adjusts the collective thru the main shaft
with a pushrod. This also means it's a hollow shaft and I
don't think it's as strong.

The other thing is the battery....looks a little small and there isn't
a lot of room to use a bigger one in there.

Just a couple of casual observations.

Thanks heli jim.

What do you think on how aerobatic it is?

I would like a good heli to start off with but i would like something that when i have more experience can do major 3D.

Thanjs

I still believe that you get what you pay for. The T-rex 450SE V2 is a $500 (you can find it cheaper - www.myrcsupply.com (http://www.myrcsupply.com) has it for just under $400!) heli PLUS tx, rx, gyro, servos, charger. If you get the whole package for $350 you can't expect that it is going to be the same quality.

I flew the CP Pro for a while and it was cheaper but a decent heli. I went T-rex because of it's name, ample parts available, quality, and everyone knows how to work on them. If you need to save money (can't afford the $1000 price tag for the T-rex 450SE V2) check you the E-flite Blade 400. It comes with a very good TX!!!

Please hear this... I don't want to rain on your parade but I don't want you to be discouraged about a heli you bought and then are not happy with.

Hey, another thought! You can save a few bucks buying a different T-rex 450 and upgrade. You can also buy cheaper electronics and upgrade those later too. I considered those options but knowing the way I operate, I would end up upgrading all of it and it would cost me more in the long run.

Again, I wasn't trying to frustrate, offend, or discourage you. But, I have been stuck before with a not so good purchase and I know how it can be mentally and financially draining.

I think they guys here are really trying to answer your question in a reality world way. Meaning The package your looking at Looks great all blinged out ,but in the long run it will cost you more. the shippong charges and wait times will kill ya. If you look close to a trex and the falcon you will notice alot of simularities... thats vecause everyone tries to copy the trex. the falcon in the link looks simular to the trex xl version. which if you like that style of control system then i believe you can get a trex xl cheaper. if money is the issue then think about buying a good used one

It is nothing like a Falcon 40...

It is a dressed up Falcon 3D.

I have a Falcon 3D I will sell for $100 plus shipping charges (estimate $20 shipping).

You can't beat a Falcon 3D for the price.
Trex 450 costs 3 to 4 times as much money.

Evan,

My Falcon 3D is in mint condition. Looks and flys like new.

As for the difference, the Trex is a "high dollar" helicopter.

kind of like a Mersades Benz vs a 5.0 Mustang.

they both go the same speed (aprox) one is smoother and quieter and has fancy heated leather seats,
the other one costs 1/4 the money and runs just fine thank you.

Harry

P.S. I just bought the "Mersades" and now I wish to sell my " 5.0 Mustang". ( Please read my signature)

how many flights and how many crashes?

I might be interested in it when i have some money.

the t-rex is just a little bigger. right?????

I am fairly new to rc helis. Is this your first heli? Is it good for a semi beginner?

How is it in inverted flight?

Thanks

Evan,
a Falcon 3D is a 300 mm mainblade heli.
a Trex 450 v1 is a 315 mm main blade heli.
a Trex 450 v2 is a 325 mm main blade heli.
So yes the Trex is a little larger, but only slightly.

I have aprox 30 flights , 3 crashes.
But I have performed 100% repair every time.
You can not tell it from a new one.

this was my second heli, my first was 16 years ago, they have improved over the years. I had a .32 nitro Kyosho Concept. ( a 550 mm size).

this Falcon 3D heli is perfect for a beginner, it is even all trimmed out perfectly.

as for inverted, I can't fly inverted.
but the Falcon 3D is a fully capable 3D machine.
this heli will go inverted no problem...

Mine is truly "Ready to fly" even is perfectly adjusted and hovers nicely.

All knobs are adjusted on the transmitter.

Includes battery charger, training gear (not really needed) instructions, everything...I am even including stuff that didn't come with it, transmitter Nimh batteries ( 2300 mah).

All you gotta do is
1) take it out of the box,
2) remove the foam rubber mainblade holder,
3) unfold the blades,
4) switch on the transmitter,
5) extend the antenna,
6) remove canopy,
7) plug in the Lipo battery,
8) wait 5 seconds for ESC beeps and gyro warm up time,
9) reinstall canopy,
10) fly and enjoy.
