Anyone done an electric conversion on this plane?
Wing Span 60"
Wing Area 693 Sq. In.
Weight 5.5 to 6 pounds (dry)
I was originally planning a Saito 91S 4 stroke, but am thinking of going electric.
I'd love any suggestions you might have.

Kirby Pople did one with a Hacker B50 13S. I will see if can drop by and answer your questions.

Axi 4130/16 on 6's should work well. Get to the Hobby-Lobby web site quick before they end the sale tonight. ;)

I did do the 13s, but I think it would perform better with a Hacker B50 10l 5.2:1. another much cheaper option would be the Eflite 60 out runner on 6s. Done with the Tanic 3250 3s 1p config on a UCD .46 the performacen is outstanding. If you have not purchased the plane yet, take a look at Eflightline's edge. Its lighter than the Aeroworks and a 2 piece wing I believe. Same motor choices.

Thanks for the pix and the input.
I've already got the plane on my bench, with Hitec HS645MG servos all around. It's pretty hard to justify to the additional cost of converting to electric with a plane this size and weight.
After doing some research it seems that Motor, ESC, mounts, Lipos (not incl backup set) and Lipo charger is gonna set me back about $600. OUCH!
At this point, I'm probably just going to go ahead and install the Saito 4S, and think about another plane down the road designed for electric flight.

That setup would run about 600, but the Eflite 60, and 6s would run about $380.

Thanks. How is the quality of the Eflite 60? Also, whose Lipo's?

Tanic 3s 1p 3250's. x2 $125= $250+$130 motor = $380
The quiality appears to be everything to be expected today.
