The rain was beginning to fall, so this is just a very short video showing how well the Suppo 2208/12 does in an LAheli Maxir (had to cut it short when the rain really started picking up).

Here's the motor used: http://www.lightflightrc.com/HTML/products/SP_2208-12.htm (very similar specs to the Axi-2208/20 "hop-up" motor recommended for the Maxir, but at 1/4 the price)

Loved the video and great price on the motor and ESC combo, Good find. That should also move a parkjet around pretty I bet.

Thanks, Kosh

Poor John, I really gave him a workout behind the camera. My Maxir is hard enough for observers to track in perfect weather, the clouds, low light and trees in the back ground were really making tracking the heli hard for him (I tried to stay in close, but kept finding myself doing transition moves into fast flight like I always do).

You're going to laugh about this Kosh, I was flying my Axi2208/20 earlier, and found out what that growling noise and vibe yesterday was... 4 of the magnets were sliding around in the endbell :<:. I had the Suppo in my other Maxir, so I decided to give it a try on my blue one for now :silly: (on the upside, the Suppo has almost identical specs to the Axi, but is 9gr lighter).

John did pretty darn good considering the conditions, And even in good weather I have a heck of a time tracking it myself.

Yeah, given the conditions, John did really well.

Once I get some more tuning done on my Maxir SE-R, it should be easier to keep track of color wise (since it will be all bright red instead of dark blue, black, and white).

It will need to be brighter, it's going to move out rediculously fast compared with my current Maxir SE-B (SE-R: 230W peaks, >3000rpm, 370gr AUW vs SE-B: 140W peaks 2600rpm, 350gr AUW).

Hi, I am looking to the specs of Suppo 2208/12 - and i see, it is rear-mount.....(axi 2208 is the front-mount) How did you mount the motor on Maxir please?

Hi, I am looking to the specs of Suppo 2208/12 - and i see, it is rear-mount.....(axi 2208 is the front-mount) How did you mount the motor on Maxir please?Stick with your Axi 2208/20 (from the other thread), the Suppo 2208/12 has a little less power than the Axi (tached it at 2500rpm, it's only 20Kv lower than the Axi, but my Axi's tach at 2650rpm headspeed).

To use a Suppo on a Maxir, the shaft has to be shifted (I flipped the shaft around, it's just 2 set screws to loosen, and a C clip to remove).
