View Full Version : Beware of FeeBay - Flastion Pre-Flight Sim

OK, I got this on FeeBay with a gutted R/C transmitter and cable from Hong Kong. Three weeks after "winning" this item, I received it. No CD key enclosed. One more week of emails through feebay and finally got it installed. Sim runs but won't recognize the transmitter. This is a microphone jack hookup that supposedly gives a 6-channel R/C flight sim. The hardware is pure garbage. the seller will ship another item if I ship it back (24.00 to hong kong), but will not refund my money! I only paid 42.00 for the whole thing. If someone else is using Flaston Pre-Flight and has gotten it to work, I would appreciate some help - there's no tech support from the seller (English is not their primary language).

Sorry to hear about you problem with this peddler, and thanks for the heads up on this one. Is it possible for you to let us know the eBay user's ID selling this garbage?

If he is peddling this, he is probably peddling some other garbage as well.

Thanks again

Who would have ever thought of combining medical supplies with R/C stuff? Fossils? Antiques? Video equipment? What is a Sitmap?

Scary place!!!

My complaint is with the feebay seller, not Transcendental Technologies. They did not ship and/or make the junk box and cable that resembles a 6 ch transmitter!

but i bet they'd like to know and may be able to assist you.

Are you 100% sure you have it plugged into the mic input and not the line in or line out?
Honestly I'm just taking a stab in the dark here.

Don't understand why they think you can't get 6 ch on USB either.

Please, help me here.:o

Who sold you the simulator? Who is the perpetrator on eBay?

The link you provided above took me to that site where "everything but the kitchen sink" is for sale there. I assume in Asia?

I don't think that's the same seller. These people are selling it for more than what he paid for his.

The link he posted was to somewhere in Asia. Their English gives them away, plus he said he got it from Hong Kong.

Good thing I am not looking for a simulator. I am perfectly happy with Real Flight G2 and G3!:)

I downloaded the demo and was not at all impressed. I think FMS is better.

Well, I guess that takes care of that!:p

I have an aversion to buying things from unknown sources overseas. It is just my nature. I have seen many a so called good deal go sour pretty quick, just as I have seen a few go as planned.:o

If I can't get it here in the good Ol' USA, I don't need it.:D

Hey forest, do you have a link to the demo? I'd like to try it. I downloaded a gunship into my FMS files, but it would'nt run it. It was worth a try.

i spoke with TT yesterday....they tell me that peeps are selling the demo with their own Tx without permission...i dont know if this is the case, but check the version of the software.

BTW they have dragonfly and Blade helis in the latest version and Tx cables for walkera and blade Tx and more....

I am trying RC flight sim for the first time and had been very impressed by PreFlight's web site. Apparently it has a modeller in it. A usb controller is in one package with the software.

One other thread seems to say that Preflight is a lemon. The screenshots look good.

What is the opinion of Preflight...anyone use it very much?

Most simulators that take input from the mic or line in jack need SmartPropoPlus and a virtual joystick program (PPJoy) to make the audio input look like a joystick to the simulator.

I have never used Pre-Flight so I don't know if this applies to that piece of software, but it is worth checking.

SmartPropoPlus is found here:

unfortunately "lemon" is possibly too good a description for it.
if $ is an issue, check out clearview...works with all the interfaces and is great value.

The Clearview site is a very helpful site. At this point in time I don't want to spend too much.

What I want to do is to design an aircraft and put it in a prog like Clearview to see if it performs realistically. That is, like a full-size aircraft rather than just a model of one. Can I do that in Clearview?

Also I'd like to control a number of things as the aircraft moves. I guess the more channels you have the better? What's the best place in Perth, Australia to get a usb one?

I intend using Truespace 4.3 or Blender to do the aircraft. Truespace has an atmosphere option in it.

I used the OZ Preflight sim for quite awhile for a Blade CP heli. It was a decent sim with nice graphics. Not Real Flight or FSOne but the flight dynamics seemed better than FMS. The mic input cable that was provided plugged right into the E-Flite 6 channel TX supplied with the Blade CP. No other software was required. I had no problems with it at all, but sold it some time last year.

I try very hard not to buy ANYTHING from CHINA. It's getting VERY tough since our leadership has literally sold our country to them.

But one thing I CAN do is not buy directly from China. Every single time I have, whether RC or ham radio gear, I got screwed. Either 45 days in transit because of Chinese New Year or something...always something. How can you trust an economy that will put anti-freeze in toothpaste, melamine in pet food, and God knows what in other products. I will never trust their products again.

If my only choice is a Chinese product, I buy it from an American distributor who will stand behind the products, then my dealings are with an American company.
