New to Strykerdom...

Didn't follow the advice about battery tie-downs (as the batt seemed to fit tight) and ended up with a roamer. As I was at the field, and still had a couple of charged batteries I had to come up with a "temporary" fix. I ended up wrapping a rubber band around the battery and stuffing it back in place... About 20 flights later and I still haven't gone to a more permanent fix as this remedy is still working.:)

Sounds like a good temp fix. I glued velcro to the bottom of my battery bay floor. Then put the other side on your battery it wont slide any more.

I know, I was going to follow your advice, but as the battery seemed to fit tight I didn't and ended up with it moving on me. I still plan on using the velcro when I get the time and materials to do it.

Yup, velcro is the way to go!! I know what you mean when you say "when I get the time". I have an A-10 sitting in my shop waiting for me to get the time. I really want to start it but something always comes up.

Yep, like another post on this site. :D
If I could just pull myself away from here I would probably get something done.

Lightweights! :D

On my bench I've got: one Stryker for me and another for a friend (was waiting on a slot cutter that arrived today); A DC-3 that has it's base coat but is waiting until I can finish my spray booth (graphics cut and waiting to be airbrushed); a flatout Cap in the box calling to me.... Man I got tired thinking about this!

Last night I got the A-10 glassed and this morning I glued Carbon Fiber ribbon along the entire lenght of the fuse [inside] to make this weak plane strong. I can't wait to finish her and get her flying. It will have a single brushless motor mounted in the tail cone, running a 9 or 10 inch prop. I love the way this plane looks in the air. It's also a great flyer, it is the second one I have built. The 1st one had the wimpy 50mm fans and could barley get out of it's own way. So I put 2 speed 400 brushed motors and ran it as a twin pusher. You can see it in my gallery over at RC Groups.

Have you fixed your battery issue?

P.S. Just for the record, I'm a slacker, not a lightweight, he he.:)

Have used velcro for all my electric planes as a battery hold down. Aint failed in 5 years of flying. I also velcro the rx and the esc to hold them in check. Probably one of the greatest inventions of all mankind. That and toilet seat hinges!!! :D

Thanks for reminding me, I bought some industrial stick Velcro but got sidetracked... Will get to it today!
