G'day all, Thought i would share my re-entry into rc after a long time. Growing up i had to share my bedroom with an Invader, Flamingo, Cumulus and Curare' and thats just the ones i can remember, there are a lot more. My dad was a collector as much a flyer. I remember many a weekend spent at Monarto and Districts Model Aero Club in South Australia (not sure if that name still going), flying my various chuck and rubber powered gliders. Eventually moving to the dizzy plane, the one where you stand in one place with plane on control wires (up and down elevator) this one still in dads shed has to be 30yrs old now..... Anyway dad taught me to fly and while never having a RC of my own loved it, but things and times change and i moved on. Now in later life i felt the urge again so heading to a rc store purchased the easyfly. I feel like the clocks been turned back and i feel 10yrs old again (looking out window first thing in morn and after work for wind etc with same excitement). Have had a quite a few flights with the Easyfly (I always was interested in Gliders) and love every minute. Even with the weather being very average here at the moment manage to squeeze flights in on oval over the road. Have ordered another couple of lipos and swallow charger to increase flying time and reduce waiting/charging time.............
Cheers all.........:D:D:D

Hello Jaiwill, Welcome to Wattflyer!
I don't know if you've spotted it, but we have a sub-Forum for Australia, here;
http://www.wattflyer.com/forums/forumdisplay.php?f=96
You might be able to hook up with some local flyers. There's also threads for distributors and clubs.
The "Vintage + Old Timers" Forum has links for kits and plans from the past. Several newer companies are re-printing plans or laser-cutting kits of vintage designs.
"Sailplane + High Performance" Forum has all types of gliders, electric-powered sailplanes, Hotliners, Pylon Racers, and so on.
Happy to have you here!

I hear it's the same for re-habilitated alcoholics, all it takes is one drink and off the wagon they fall... http://mescal.pixelized.ch/smilies/beer.gif
Have fun, it's a lot better that when your dad used to fly.

Yeah your not wrong, i cant believe the size of the electronics now. When i was flying with dad i remember the servos being the size of a house brick...... lol...
lipos and brushless motors are really taking things forward.bin for one flight already this morning 45mins plus. I'm using the power sparingly just to get height and gliding the rest. I'm really impressed with the easyfly, getting it to come down seems to be the only hurdle at the moment:silly::silly:

Sure your having trouble getting it to come down, or you not wanting it to end? =P

Lol...., bit of both i think. As my skills get better im getting more and more out of the plane. Compared to my first flight i didnt time it but power on the whole flight prob 7mins. Spoke to my dad on the phone and he gave me a few good tips on stretching the flight times. Like powering to a height then gliding till it comes down tree height or so (depends on preference) then powering back up again. Watching for birds (thermalling) i think ill leave that one for later tho when skills allow,45mins is good on 1800 lipo, can't stress how happy i am with the easyfly. I know gliders arent for everyone, some like the power and speed, but for a first plane although it has ailerons if you dont want to use them leave them unplugged. I fly it often on rudder and elevator only. I have the j3 grasshopper and s2-a pitts coming with extra lipos. Im thinking ill get a wee bit better at things before the pitts...........:D:D
