I have an old Airtronics transmitter that I've resurrected due to sentimental reasons and I need a battery for it. The original is a Sanyo Cadnica model 8n-600aa, 9.6v 600mAh wj battery. Mine won't hold a charge. Any Ideas?? Thanks.

Hang in there, someone is likely to sell you a newish one they replaced with larger. You are not limited to 600mA, you can go as high as ~2500 (have those in mine).
Some folks get a Radio Shack 8-cell AA holder and solder on their old connector. Use regular AA rechargeables.

As just stated, get the batt holder and build a better pack. Futaba sells a holder that my LHS has. I built a pack using 2500mah NiMh batts for half the price of those garbage 600mah NiCd OEM packs. Twice as good too.
I cut off the old wire/connector and soldered it to the batt holder.

www.cheapbatterypacks.com will build you whatever you need. As mentioned you can go much higher in capacity if you desire. I would if you plan to actually use that radio.
I have them custom make a 2700mA NiMH TX pack for my Optic 6 a couple years ago and it was less than $30 shipped to my door.
