Is the fuse a foam sandwich or is there some wood in there, esp around motor mount? Are the wings solid? Looks nice.

The core is eps reinforced with balsa, which makes it very lite and strong, The wing is hollow with a balsa spar. Their is a 1/32 ply nose doubler for the motor mount which makes that lite and vert strong the plane you see in the pic is 16.4oz RTF.

Based on what I can tell by the photos, it looks like it should be a rock solid performer, one with killer looks to boot as well.

I like the amount of engineering that appears to have gone into the motor mount arrangement and re-inforcement on the fuse end particularly. The entire airframe looks very nicely done too!

Quite an impressive bird! :)

We spent month's of analyzing every part of this plane that is one of the reasons it so lite, we designed a plane that did not need heavy carbon fiber to make it "stiff". The wing is indestructible and no carbon fiber. The combat planes are very sweet as well, and will start a new gen of combat flying for sure.

Just watched a video posted elsewhere on Watt Flyer. Your YAK-54 is a superb performer.

I also was pleasantly surprised by the resiliency it possesses. Impressive doesn't begin to describe what I have seen so far. Looks like you may have a winner there! :)
