I guess this is where this should be posted.
I have been working on my new Edge 540.I painted it about 3 months ago and didn't do no more and I got it out 2 days ago and Glued the wing & stab to the fuselage let dry over night. Today we glued the control horns to the control surfaces and let everything dry.tonight about 9:30 pm I started installing the servos receiver and the linkages.I just now at 12:50 got the motor and speed controller installed I weigh it is is 10.8.AUW plus the battery.

On all my other planes I either Hot glued the servos in the plane and or used wire ties and strap them in but there are disavanges to these ways:

Hot glue its a pain to get the servo out if it needs to be replaced,My last edge I had to replace all the servos at one point cause they just quit working or I broke a gear.

Wire ties is Ugly, this plane is the nicest plane I have done and I wanted to keep it nice so I came up with a new way of doing it,I will be posting pictures of it.

I took balsa wood square pieces and cut just big enough to go on both sides of the servo.then i hot glued it to the plane and used the screws to hold it in.I think they look really nice.

This plane is useing the 2015 Himax motor 6.6:1 gear ratio and I am useing a Castle Creation 25 amp Speed controller with anywhere from a 830 3 cell Poly quest to a Thunder Power 1320 3 cell Pro Lite battery packs.

By the way this is a Fancyfoam.com Edge.Great little planes.

Okay theres the pictures, shows the blocks cut out before I painted them and with them in the plane and the servos in the plane.I have to take a picture with the motor on.Post as soon as i get it.

Well I flew it just a few minutes ago and it flew great ran the motor up and let go of it,it only needed a few clicks of down in it. Flew perfect I did my rolling circles and loops and inverted flight and spins,I then came down lower and hovered it.My other edge flew good but I think this one only being 10.8 plus battery helps alot with the flight.I even hovered and caught it also, didnt want to land on the grass as it is wet and Idont have a skid plate on the bottom yet.

Another great flying www.fancyfoam.com (http://www.fancyfoam.com) model.

Very nice Chris :)

Thanks mike,I really put my time into this one,I done everything,My father put the other one I had together but on this one I did everything except glue it together,I still make a mess with the gorilla Glue when I use it so I have to give credit to him for gluing the wing and stab elevators on.but the rest I done.

Great 4th of july plane.

Great idea,Chris. I use double sided servo tape. I too used the hot glue, and wrecked a airframe trying to remove some servos. I have the Cap 232,and the 10-300 Ultimate bipe. After tearing up the servo locations on the bipe,I cut them out completly, and replaced the foam. No more hot glue for me(on the servos). Ron;)

Yea I love it,I used hot glue to glue the blocks in anyone else might want to use gorilla glue on them as I had a couple of mine come lose but I fixed them. I love knowing I can just take 2 screws loose and replace the servo's.

Happy flying;)

For attaching servos, wings, tail feathers, etc. I use clear Silicone Adhesive. It holds everything together but can be pulled off with a pair of pliars without damaging the foam. It is also a shock absorber of kinds as a hard impact will break the silicone joint (usually before the foam breaks).

To use, line the pieces up and run a bead of the adhesive along the joint line, not between them. This allows the bead to be pulled off it needed.

That seems like a good idea also,Might have to try that on my next one,the blocks are really nice but take some extra time. When I put together my Tribute I just glued them in with hot glue. Its going to be hard to get them out if I ever have to.
