Hi, I was wondering if/where i can get props that aren't the orange ones and don't break as easily that don't need an adapter. And what would be a good size/pitch to get, I don't fly fast and like to have long flight times. thanks.

You can use APC props with an adapter. The adapter is a GWS part, GW/ADC001.

thanks, i might do that those gws props don't take much to break sometimes they break when i land soft in the grass and it tips over

yep, that's what I've found too. However, running into a lightpole breaks APC props, too. :o

With that adapter - you can also use the E-Flite black props. These things are amazing! You can actually bend them into a knot and they spring right back.

that part number actually gets you a parts tree with 4 different adapters on it (two of each) - they are labelled: APC 10-11", APC 8-9", COX 7", and GRAUPNER

Or instead of adapters, just use a 1/4" piece of fuel tubing !:):eek::eek::D

I still use the orange props on certain planes. But I used a propsaver untill I got the hang of landing. At first I used O-Rings to hold the props on. But I found that 3/8 latex tubing makes a much better band to hold the prop on. Cut it into small strips. They don't tend to crack like the rubber O-rings do. There are many ways to make a propsaver.
Some ppl use wing nuts, servo arms ect. Or you can buy one real cheap less that $4.00 so it will pay for it's self the first few times you nose the plane over on a landing and your prop don't break. I have had planes hit the ground and be all busted up but it never hurt the prop.

Older pic below of the one I use to use on my Slow Stick, and one I use on my 3D plane.

The GWS HD props have a much heavier hub than the SF series that break so easy.

if you order from all e rc you will get black props instead of orange. :)

why are you landing with the throttle up? glide path ;) kill it before you hit the ground!!! lol

I think the Idea is to break the prop rather than bend the shaft on the motor .. Take it from an "Expert" crasher ... Also the prop is supposto just fly off rather than break .. But I have broken my share ... And More .. Thanks , Don
