View Full Version : Power 46 sized Beaver or similar sea plane search

I am fairly new to electrics and have picked up an E-Flite Power 46 package. I am looking for a suitable 40 sized conventional float plane such as a Beaver or possibly a Citabria. I haven't found a 40 sized Beaver or a list of float suppliers.
Any help would be appreciated, Thanks.

Don't recall seeing any 40 sized of either of those planes. I'd suggest a Hangar 9 Cub and add floats but it seems like everyone has a Cub....

If you are into kit building the Unionville Hobby DeHavilland Beaver - 6'.40-.46 (greathobbies.com/productinfo/?prod_id=UVH009) might be a possibility. The also have a DeHavilland Otter - 6' .40-.46 (greathobbies.com/productinfo/?prod_id=UVH011) or a Norseman - 63" .40-.46 (greathobbies.com/productinfo/?prod_id=UVH013). I don't have any experience with these kits, but you might be able to find some additional information in the forum. The write up for the Beaver says that an electric version is also available.

Daveee, there is a .40 size Beaver kit made by Unionville Hobbies, in Ont., Canada, that is a very nice flier. It's only "sorta scale", but has optional flaps. This is a builders kit, not an arf, but I really enjoyed the whole process, when I built mine 10 years ago. Span is 72". The E version of the kit was designed around a geared Astro 25 and 16 cell nicad packs, so a Power 46 system on 3 or 4S lipos would save tons of weight.

Try easybuiltmodels.com , they have a kit that looks and appears easy to build and fly.
