I just got a Great Planes Matt Chapman Cap 580. Which power source would be best? Axi 4120/ or 4130 set up? I like the axi outrunners( I dislike gearboxes!!) I would like to keep the weight down to a minimum.

Is it the CP cap 580 .46?

An Axi 4130-16 tears up a 6lb plane. Here is a 4130 on a 6 3/4 lb Fliton Extra. http://www.fliton.com/new_english/movie/10_Extra-HQ.wmv

Yes it's the smaller one (.46-.60) I want plenty of power for strong aerobatics.

I have an axi 4130/16 in my ultra stick 60 conversion which will be making it's maiden flight this weekend if the weather is good. I have a castle creations hv 85 and thunder power lipos running 6s 4200mah. The batteries weigh 9 oz each for 18oz total for the battery. This is my first large electric. The cap may be my second if the first works out great. It would be nice to be able to use the same bats in each plane.

See what you think of the 4130 in your Ultra. I think you will be pleased and will be able to utlize the same power system in the Cap.

The power system worked great in the ultra stick! Flew for five minutes or so at just above half throttle. The plane would pull up into a nice large loop from level flight. I think I need to go to a larger prop though. I used a 15x8 apc to keep the amps down untill the batteries have had a chance to break in. Only used about 1/4 the capacity of my pack!! Amazing!!Alittle more speed would be nice for the cap I think.
