I want to try a jet, what is a nice starter, easy hand launch etc. I'm an intermediate flyer. I've already got a nice cache of smaller NiMH, 4 channel rx and small servos. I don't want to break the bank or spend to much time building, I like ARF's.

Easiest would be a GWS A-10 with edf 55's or edf 50's if it's calm in your area. On the high end side are the Alfa Mig 15 and F-86 costing from $160 to $170 compared to $80 for the GWS.

If you don't mind building (only a couple hours, half that is for the covering), my little deltajet-400 kit is an easy-flying entry level EDF. Goes well with the stock powerfan-400 and sp400 motor too.

There's a short video on my site of it flying, with a B20 22L hacker, which is a sedate power system for it. Just a teeny bit more performance than the stock sp400, but really really long flights (9 amps with 2100 3S pack equates to 13~15 minutes full throttle). with a hot motor I fly in one now, I can takeoff grass (no landing gear, just sliding).

Depron Jets,
For a simple and CHEAP EDF jet I might suggest building Dr'es Mini-F-22 Parkjet (GWS EDF40), or Mr Boogie's F-35 JSF (WeMoTec Microfan) Both of these jets can be built in a weekend, and the cost is a Heck of a lot cheaper than what you'd have to pay for a "ARF" Kit.
