Hi all. I'm gonna attempt to repair / rebuild my Kavan D-VIII and am toying with maybe going brushless and 7.4 lipo. Anyone got a setup in a similar Kavan / Scorpio / Alfa WWI bird that they love????. I was thinking about going with this one

Not because it is CHEAP, but I think the bp8y did ok on 7.4V from what I remember. I could let it just chew up speed 300's, but this bird does NOT want to fly so I was thinking more power might be in order.
Thoughts, comments, snide remarks;-) anyone?

I am using a towerpro 2410-08 I bought here in my Kavan Albatros. I have a 9x7 prop and 2s lipo. It has more than enough power with this setup. They also sell combo of the 2410-08, ESC, and 9x7 prop for less than $20. Be sure and look at the specs on the ESC. Last combo I bought from them the ESC was for 3s only but that was no problem, I just put in into a plane that needs 3s.

Thanks '60,
That's the set up info I was after. I run the 21's on 11.1v with a 8x4 and their great, but I knew that there was another setup for bigger SF props at 7.4v.

Here are a couple of pictures of the motor mounted in my Kavan Albatros. As you can see I had to make a motor mount set back in the fuselage behind the original firewall. I made a box with the motor mount as the bottom. Cut a hole in the original fire wall and glued the box in the hole.
