I want to publically apologize to the Wattflyer AP gang for a circumstance that went beyond my control. This is in reference to AP Contest #15 - http://www.wattflyer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=41846&highlight=mine

The prize was a grand one, almost too good to be true. The vendor promised me product and delivery but failed to stand up to his own words. He has avoided many, many emails and pm's from me.

So here we sit months later and the winner of the contest is left empty handed. In retrospect as this was my first moderated run contest, I should have had the prize prior to the start.

Kirsty Karnage, I apologize to you. I even offered to buy the product from Askman but that even failed as well. I'm sorry you were involved with this as this is not what I am about.

Askman - You have created a name for yourself and lost all respect from the AP community. Shame.

Regards,

Dave

is askman a person?
I don't see any thing wrong with that thread?
I am sure "Askman" has his reasons

Don't let it get to you Dave as you have only the best of interest for the community. I know just how hard it is to pull one of these off and was in the same case more than once here. Kristy is well loved by our community and will get her rewards at some point even if it has a few blood stains on it.

Lets all work forward on getting the next one rolling and worrying about prizes later. Theres just no reason we cant keep these contests rolling and have at least 4 a year prize or no prize.

Do I have second?

I second it. I live in the Texas Hill Country and some of the Vistas I could photograph will knock your socks off and a contest is exactly the sort of impetus I need to start and subsequently finish a project. :p>

Now if I could only find the right camera...

We have a second and I believe that's enough for a new contest, Kristy please send me a PM with your address and I will get you off one of my new DVD's as a lesser prize. It has action, terror and just plain bad flying with lots of crashes in case you don't get enough there.

Firstly many thanks to Dave for trying so hard, I dont blame anyone on here for the let down, I know "Cant-be-asked-man" of old, it took me 5 months to find a supplier of his mounts for my trex600, so it came as no surprise to be honest.
I have read many posts on runryder about him & his total unprofessional approach to the modelling community, so its just another day.

Dave chill my friend, it's not the end of the world...yet:Q

Kosh, thanks for the kind offer..I will PM you my details;-)

Keep the contests running & Macsgrafs WILL give a first prize of your winning photo on large format canvas.

Beno,

What are you talking about? ASKMAN was the vendor Dave was supposed to get the prize from. It was not being handled in the thread. Regardless of his reasons, if he committed to a prize, then the right thing to do is man-up and keep his word.

No Beno, He comittied to giving a Camera mounting system prize worth $150 and did not deliver. Look at the first post in the thread Dave referenced.

One big lesson in life, if you commit to doing something do it, if you can't for some reason explain to folks why.
