I noticed today Tower Hobbies advertising the Phoenix ICE series ESC's with availability estimated in July. Any information on these? I didn't find any reference on the Castle Creations website. Thanks!

There is a page on a different Castle site - its not directly accessible from the main pages.

They aren't HV though.

They aren't HV though.

All the heatsinked ICE ESCs are good up to 34 volts (8S). I personally don't know anyone using that many cells. I am one of the few at my field using a 5S pack. I guess the electrics have yet to really catch on with many of the members at my club. There is a large electric group in the area though.

Word is they will be released very soon - possibly a week or so.

They are very very nice controllers. I highly recommend them :)

Yup, they have been released!

Finally they've got a nice-looking ESC w/heatsink and switchmode BEC. The data logging is a sweet feature! I have a EagleTree v3 but don't use it very often.

I think next time I need a Phoenix I'll go ahead and try an ICE ;)
