Has any one built one of these? How detailed are they and can they be converted to electric RC?

Better than Guillows?

Hello dbcisco,
I haven't built the Albatross, but did convert a G.A.R. kit of the Corben "Super Ace" to R/C. Here's the build thread;

As far as comparing the kit to Guillows, the quality of wood is much better, but they're not die-cut or laser-cut. It's printwood, you must cut the pieces out yourself. Not too difficult, but fine work and small pieces.
Not too much scale detail included, mine had a printed instrument panel, plastic wheels. The plans are very good, lots of detail there. Drawings of step-by-step construction are on the plans, no booklet of instructions. Included also is good-quality tissue, music wire, prop, prophook, rubber, dowel, etc., for rubber-power Free Flight.
Here's a few photos of the kit, there are many more on the build thread.
Good Luck!
Ron

Its beautiful on the shelf, someday I'll get around to rigging it to get rid of the warping and give it a try with rubber power. I think it is too fragile for anything else.
