Hi Luscombe, welcome to Wattflyer! There are a few plan sets available for Luscombe aircraft, including the Sedan (76" ws) and Silvaire (40" ws) from http://www.vintagercsociety.org. Also a Luscombe 50 and Luscombe Mallard (plans) from www.modelaircraft.org (http://www.modelaircraft.org) (plans service)
The only R/C kit I found is from www.darehobby.com/airplane-electric-03.htm#luscombesilvaire (http://www.darehobby.com/airplane-electric-03.htm#luscombesilvaire)
This is a Pat Trittle design, w.s. 52", lt. 29.5", wt. 16 oz., price $ 69.95 + $ 6.00 S + H. It recommends a 280 electric motor.
You also may want to check out http://www.luscombe.org
Hope this helps!
Ron

No it's not the same plane. Although it is a nice plane that NSP sells. I also have one of those and it flies great.

Replikits do a plan/printwood pack for the old KK Luscombe Silvaire - they used to fly well on an ED Baby 0.5cc diesel so it'd go well on a small outrunner.

I've had some stuff off them and it's ok.

Hi guys,

Just wanted you let you all know that REPLIKIT is back and with all the old keilkraft, veron, mercury, comet, skyleada, richard crossley and steve bage designs. The only difference is that we now own REPLIKIT and were not allowed to use teh keilkraft, mercury and veron names, so we have the RKK, RKVERO and RKMERC as the range. For example if you wanted a Keilkraft Eaglet you would get an RKK Eaglet.

Please visit www.replikit.com (http://www.replikit.com/) to view all these old kits available, not as print wood anymore but as either FULL LASER CUT KITS or SHORT LASER CUT KITS, i.e. plans and LASER CUT parts. This includes all the small flying scale, tru-flight ranges as full kits, most of the control line kits, gliders, rubber power and freeflight, more kits being added daily. You can also aquire hard copy plans and CD`s with 25 plans on each.

I hope that REPLIKIT will get the support that the original owners had so that we can bring these wonderfull kits back to you from our past.

Thank you for reading.

Best regards,

Mike.

I don't know if anybody's interested, but I have a VERY old Luscombe Silvaire kit made by Cleveland. It's about 30" span. If anyone's interested, tell me what you've got to trade!

Try checking the Cleveland Models Supply catalog. They may still have some of Ed Packard's original Luscombe plans.

Mmartin555, thanks for the link to Acme Models. I didn't know about the company, but now have one of their Beech Bonanzas on order. Really nice person to do business with!

I had some questions regarding which were his "classic" kits, and the proprietor, Schuyler Greenwalt, responded almost immediately despite his being out of town.

Oh. My.

My thanks also for the link to Acme. That Luscombe 11A is gorgeous!

So is that 170... and that Bonanza... and....

Anybody else notice how they conspicuously left Clyde's last name off that 170? Don't ya love lawyers....

:D

The Cleveland Model & Supply web site, clevelandairlines.com shows plans for the Silvaire and Sedan in about 7 sizes each, plus apparently the plans for their old IT series kits for these two. Might have to call direct, 317-257-7878 to find out if they are actually available.

As I said above, I have a Cleveland Silvaire kit (30" span) that I'm willing to part with, preferably in a trade.

Also, here's a link to a Luscombe plan id PDF format - either Comet of Cleveland - can't tell which: http://mywebpage.netscape.com/dmlivesay/luscombe50.PDF

Went to my Penn Valley Hobby Center newsletter, and they list a repro of the Comet Luscombe "50", 16" span, kit A-23, PV catalog #1185, for $us13.95 +s&h. Sounds like the plane plan in the above link.

I have a Luscombe 8, R/C model, but I do not know who produced the kit. It has a 75" span, fiberglass fuselage, cowl, and wheel pants. The wings, and tail feathers are built up.
