I got this thing off of EBay from China and it works OK, but it seems to be operating at 5-10fps which is not quite enough for smooth video. Has anyone played with this thing? It looks like you can replace the firmware easily - I just have to convert the file names to English to have a closer look.

If you do a google on "chewing gum video camera" you will find all sorts of renditions of the thing.

I paid $30US shipping incl.

Anyone have experience with it?

We saw these at the AMA expo in Ontario last year. One of my buddies bought one (only paid $20) and is having fun with it.

Yeah, the frame rate is pretty low, thats why I use my FlyCamOne2.

What I thought was funny, was how the guy selling the cameras said:

"The best thing to do with this camera is put it on your shoe" :<:

Why not try a windows movie maker and edit the video to go double speed? Then the video would be around 20fps. Worth a try IMO.

It will look like an early B&W hand crank films.
