So I have had this Blip modified Apitek for some time. I've always been marginally happy with the results.

When you do AP its a crap shoot. Take photos, go home & review, make changes, forget them, go flying again and roll the dice.

I've been playing with the camera, and actually messing with the focus. I've got it set TOTALLY WRONG for AP, as its focused 'near'. Whatever, these are the best photos for clarity I've ever gotten:

When they are full size, wow. I'm thrilled. Looks like I can continue with my cheapo gear before I start spending big cash on a nice HD camera.

Now, I just have to get a 7 ch RX so I can use the flaps on the Bird Dog, AND take photos. With the flaps, that plane is nearly a kite.

I have had three of the little cameras and I had to tr-focus every one. Nice pictures.

I played around with an AipTek PenCam a few years ago. I was initially disappointed with the focus so I did a test setup looking at a distant object. I then took a whole series of photos with slightly different focus positions. I went through the photos and found the setting that gave the clearest images in the test setup. That's where I set the focus for my aerial work. The markings on the camera's focus ring were pretty useless.

I keep looking for a camera about the same size as the Aiptek.. It's -almost- ideally sized for AP.
I have two, one with a bad "backpack" trigger, and the other (from Australia) still works good.
The typical high megapixel point-n-shoots are just too bulky!
