Working on converting a 36% Katana, actro outrunner DD motor, Jeti ESC, 15s3p Flightpower battery, Mejzlik electric prop.

Now i am waiting for 15s3p battery from FlighPower, also Köhler will make a new prototype of the 60XL with a KV of 175 to see if its a better fitt with 15s voltage, Mejzlik will manufactor a strong carbon motorplate for motor instalation.

Batterys and powerbox have arived, we finaly decided to use 7400mAh, 3x 5s2p packs, togheter 15s2p with max burst up to 222Amp ;) i hope and think they will perform as good as the smaler Flightpower batterys i have tryed, 20-25c continuos and 30c burst is no match for them, best of all, they are very well matched and balanced, stays balanced even after this load and 30 sycles, yet no need to balance any EVO pack i have.
Weight of one 5s2p 7400mAh 20/30c only 930g.

How are they handling the low Kv and high current requirements? Low Kv, especially the ultra-low Kv of this motor, requires relatively thin wire to fit in the motor, while high current requires thicker wire to carry the electricity.
I guess a better question to ask is, how many Amps is this motor rated to handle? Sounds like you're expecting it to take quite a few Amps.

If you look at the smaler actro 60-200 100-120Amp is no problem on 10s, the Pletti Predator is simular in size as the 60XL and have no trubbel in 14s 200+Amps, This setup will be 15s high voltage cells so Köhler is winding the motor to best fitt 15s and 28-30" prop, one 200Kv version has already been done, but for my requierments probably a 170kv version will be better. Im hope i dont have to puch it to 200Amp, i think it will be enough with 130-150Amp peak.
Now i dont know what max Amp level will be on the motor, it has to be tested and messured by Köhler first.

With carbon plates from Mejzlik im starting to install the equipment, 15s2p battery have lotts of space to fit in the Katana, also carbon-ply-carbon plate prepared for motorinstalation, calulating on weight it seems like it will be 13kg with standard ladning gear. Motor will probably be 133kv version for lower amp level and higer total efficiency.
First sycle test of the EVO batterys showed 3,51v/cell under 92Amp load.

Test props from Mejzlik has arrived, 26x15, 28x12, 29x12, 30x12, also the new Plettenberg Predator for testing in the Katana, big and impressive motor, 24stator poles, 10+kw and onsly 1500g!

Motor and ESC installed, motormount designed and made by Johan Westlund, Sweden, fitts perfect, strong and light! soon all servos and radio installed.

Maiden flight done, 14+kg plane going straight up in the air... no lack in power ;) CG little off... after triming more aerobatic will be done, 5min flight no heat at all, love the big powerfull DD motor, great saound ;)
