Where can I find a good quality WW1 fighter plane? I have always been interested in these planes.

Cheers,
Henry

Are you interested in pre-built or kits?

Welcome to Wattflyer.

Henry, I am not sure what you are looking for in the way of the plane. You can get WWI planes in many forms, from kits to Almost Ready to Fly sets.

Here are some that have had good reviews.

From Horizon (http://www.horizonhobby.com/Products/Default.aspx?ProdID=EFL1975).

From Tower

SE 5a (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMSH7&P=0)

Fokker DVII (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMSH8&P=0)

Fokker DR1 (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXPZT9&P=0)

SPAD XIII (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXVTD5&P=0)

Sopwith Camel (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXVKS0&P=0)

Nieuport XI (http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXXSR8&P=0)

Hope this helps.

I highly recommend reading the threads here first.
E-flite and Sig ARF's are pretty easy for begginers. Haven't had any GreatPlanes kits so I can't say how they are.

How do you want it to fly? Foam planes are light and make great floaters but not good in wind. These are the Eflite Nieuport, Fokker, SE5A, Jenny and Great Planes Sopwith Pup. If you want to look for ones no longer being made there is the Wattage Camel, Kavan Albatros, Fokker DVIII, Sopwith Tripe, and DH2. I have a built up Great Planes SE5A and it flights faster but flys much better in the wind than foam. It is also 4 channel. My guess all the great planes built up planes would fly the same as my SE5A. I am sure there are several others too including the Sig and Simprop brands.
Tell us about what you are looking for and I am sure someone on here has one they like and will tell you about it.

Welcome to the group Double but be very careful or you will find yourself getting hooked and will always need just one more WW1 plane. Then you will have to attend the group meetings here which I do not believe are really helping me.

My name is Don and I am a WW1 R/C airplane junky.
