Hello

I wanted to share some experiences from my latest Esky Belt CP V2 project.

I ordered a GFK canopy AS350 Ecureuil (made by HeliArtist), the yellow black version, in hope it will fit my Esky Belt CP V2.

I was surprised for good, that I could mount it with no real problems :)

Some minor adjustment (cutting) to ensure free movement of the rotor-head arms and some tricky screw-driving to fix the canopy to the frame did the job. Mounting the tail rotor parts again was possible without major problems.

Attention:
Make sure to rotate the tail-servo and adjust the long tail rotor bar and its' guidances accordingly so it will fit into the canopy, which is quite narrow in that area.

Also be careful to make sure the tail-rotor arms and moving parts can move freely. It may be helpful to mount one or two extra a tail-servo holders near the end of the tail-boom to ensure a fixed positioning of the tail boom within the rather long canopy tail. You may cut the extra tail servo mount arms to the desired length ...

Check all before you finally mount the frame to the canopy as it may be necessary to adjust the number wooden distance-pieces that need to be placed between the frame and the canopy.

Unsolved Tail-Rotor Problem: (added later)
There is an important part missing on the canopy. The tail-rotor is not protected against hitting the ground. This extension which every AS350 has on the lower side of the tail is missing with this canopy.

If you want to see the results see attached pics or check out some more pics of the "new" heli and of the first flights at

Have fun
