Ken just finished up the WattFlyer logo decals in vinyl. They look fantastic. I will have him post some pics and pricing for the various sizes and color options. Everyone who wants them can get them directly from Ken who owns his own vinyl cutting business RC Graphics Zone. WattFlyers portion of profit proceeds will go to ASPCA and The Human Society charities (www.aspca.org (http://www.aspca.org) & www.hsus.org (http://www.hsus.org) ).

The WattFlyer logo files links were posted in a previous post. I just down loaded them. I was thanking the Admin. for posting them.
I found a decal sheet kit, at a local Wal-Mart store that you can make your own decals on your computer printer. I am going to print a couple for my Helis. The kit has enough material for only a few decals.
The post number was 265

Well, being new to this group and not familiar with the software being used to drive the chats, I am lost to know what to do with your reference to "post number 265". For example, your post here was #19, but that is #19 in this thread only.
I can prowl Wallyworld and try to make my own, but I was under the impression that someone was going to be making decals of the logo. In various sizes. Did I miss something here?

Ok, the link below is the link in the post I was refering to.

Yes there was a post that someone mentioned that they were going to have some made, but they are not available yet. I belive the post was made by the Admin. on this group. Keep a watch on this board, as he said he will post when they are available.

OK, I am with you now. The artwork was actually linked from the first message in this thread and I had already seen it. I have seen the "make your own decal" stuff and in small quanities it is really costly. More so than I would be willing to pay. Michaels may carry it. Worth a look.

Ken from RC GraphicsZone will be posting pricing info and some pics sometime today for those who don't want to print or cut their own. His are high quality vinyl that you put on with a single application.

Here is Ken's first shot at pricing the vinyl with me. We are both somewhat new to how vinyl is typically priced but if these are higher or lower than is typical let us know. I want these to be inline with whatever is typically charged and again the WattFlyer profit percentage will go to the registered charities.
2" graphic - single $2.95, pair $5.75
3" graphic - single $3.95, pair $7.65
4" graphic - single $4.95, pair $9.55
5" graphic - single $5.95, pair $11.45
6" graphic - single $6.95, pair $13.35
Shipping - $3.85 to US addresses.
Shipping outside US will be quoted at actual cost
If these are much higher or lower than what is typical please let me know as I could not find a pricing reference anywhere to use as a guideline. We only want the cost of materials covered and a little bit to make it worth Ken's time plus the charity portion which will be donated.

Marc, can you explain what the dimensions refer to? Does 2" mean the entire artwork will fit inside a rectangle 2 inches tall? Can you also define the length of the graphic? Is the background clear?
Since weight is not really an issue, why not send by regular first class mail rather than Priority and reduce the shipping cost?
Thanks,
admin
09-14-2005, 01:38 PM
TNflier - I will have ken answer those questions. I'm sure he can send regular if somebody requests it but the only problem is there is no tracking confirmation on first class. I'll defer to him though but I'm sure it is possible to reduce cost for shipping. I'll also have him explain the sizes. As for the background there is none. The beauty of vinyl is that only the elements of the image are created in vinyl. You apply it to your plane and the background is whatever you put it on. These differ from plain old decals in that way. They are much higher quality and look much better than a standard decal. This is what all the professionals use on their 40% plus planes.

TNflier,
I apologize that we don't have these set up on a regular shopping cart website yet, but we have been having troubles with the web firm we hired and the shopping cart isn't ready yet. I'll get a simple webpage up so that you all can see what these look like.
The dimension listed refers to the height of the graphic. Here are the exact dimensions for each graphic listed above.
2"h x 4"w - single $2.95, pair $5.75
3"h x 6"w - single $3.95, pair $7.65
4"h x 8"w - single $4.95, pair $9.55
5"h x 10"w - single $5.95, pair $11.45
6"h x 12"w- single $6.95, pair $13.35
Available colors are light blue, dark blue, Red, Cub Yellow, Green, Orange, Purple, and a grey.
The shipping cost is for a USPS Priority envelope. Sending first class only works for the first 2 sizes of graphics, and anything bigger needs to be in a larger envelope. We choose to use the USPS Priority envelope so there would be a standard shipping charge on all of the graphics above.

Hey locolobot,
There are a couple of ways to accomplish this. One is by simply posting in the thread itself as you have done and the other is by clicking on "thread tools" which resides on the bar just above the first post of the page and then choosing "Subscribe to this thread".
Here is the thread on the contest.

Instead of a picture in your signature try an "avatar". Click User CP and then Edit Avatar link and you can upload a picture that will appear under your username like I have.
you can attach pictures. Right now if you click the reply, quote or advanced buttons you will see the manage attachments button which allows you to upload photos. Right now you need to upload under 100k filesize and I think 1024x768 pixels or smaller but the upload window will give you specifics. An auto image resize will be coded into the software soon so you don't have to resize on your end.

He is now aware of it and I'll have an eta from him shortly but he is usually quick to update! thanks all and happy flying this weekend.
