OK, I admit it, I'm confused.

Can some explain the difference between the types of GWS props? When I look on the GWS site they list Direct Drive, Hyper Drive and Reduction series. Most of the props have an EP designation. The Hyper Drive appear to have a HD designation.

If I go to a site like slofly.com, Steve has some props listed as GWS Direct Drive and some as slofly props.

Do some people call the reduction series slofly props? Can you tell me what the difference is between the Direct Drive, Hyper Drive and Reduction Series?

Thanks.

Pretty easy if you look at the pictures and have seen the props before:
http://www.gwsus.com/english/product/propeller/propeller.htm

Direct Drive props are made for traditional brushed or new brushless motors. They are designed for high RPM applications, but are quite "floppy" and thin IMHO. They come in a variety of sizes up to quite large, but I've only ever used the smaller ones.

Hyper Drive props are larger-sized, stiffer direct-drive props with an array of prop shaft adapters. These are --IMHO-- marketed to compete with efficient, stiff APC electric props, and are only available in 8-inch and larger sizes. These are good matches for some big outrunners and 600-sized brushed motors.

Reduction Series props are a name for GWS' slow-flyer props. They are designed for low-RPM geared-drive applications. My guess is the name change was due to a conflict with a competing prop trademark, but that's just a guess.

Its really not too bad once you get past all their typos.
