I'm electrifying a 12 foot sailplane as here in UK bungy launch isn't easy due to space and other benefits. The Modelmotors AXI 4120/14 is bought. Does anybody know of a cast alloy mount taht could be converted/used for this motor? I'm not keen on the pressed steel version offered by the manufacturer and would give me fitting probs. The Hyperion alloy mount is great but just under size to use.

Keep checking this site for it to be up and running:
Inner Demon Electrics, I have seen a mount for Axi motors and I think it was theirs. The page is being upgraded so not all is readable. DArn!!!!

Many thanks for your link. Yes shame that whole site but one page is under renewal/construction cos they seem just the sort of outfit that might make a casting, except that the AXI 4120/14 is one of the larger brutes. I might phone them if I can catch the right hour. LOL

Espirit Models has a dandy.
It's a backplate and a frontplate that are connected by four aluminum rods. The rods come in different lengths so the distance between the plates is just about infinitely adjustable. With the different length rods you can extend the motor so the prop will sit right where you want it.
The backplate mounts to your firewall and the front of the motor attaches to the back of the front plate so the motor itself sits inside the four aluminum rods. It is a great mount. A little on the pricey side but still a great mount.
