Arne, thank the Lord you are living in Norway (a "sane" country by comparison) because that video will not affect your flying in the slightest... but here, that video is going to be used as one "reason" to limit FPV flying in all of the United States.

The FAA is is talks with the AMA right now as to what the "guidelines" should be for all AMA registered flying sites.

We will get the results in the summer of 2011.

been a while since I've posted anything as my emails always empty of wattflyer posts:(......as far as the video goes,i think this video wasn't one the pilot or the gang with him their want credit for as their faces are purposely blurred and their names aren't spelled out. thanking the nypd doesn't convince me this video was done with their blessing......i am pretty sure they just didn't know where the flight originated ????[not cool]

for what its worth ,i hope not to see anymore stupid videos of RC planes flying down bridges like that and buzzing buildings. once again IDIOTS will post this trash and cost us all in the tristate to suffer the consequences of foolish flying. :censor:. if we loose flying sites and these guys are to blame i hope they get all the attention they deserve from the rest of us who will be wondering what to do with all our free time.........hummmm...vigilanty group hunt......for blacksheep.:Q.

Unfortunately, the author/pilot is quite proud of himself, and really does not seem to understand why people (Americans) would be so upset by his actions. He's an Austrian citizen who flew here with the intent on making that video. Any repercussions will not be felt by him. I don't believe that the police understood exactly what he was doing or had done so he was let go. Unfortunately.

I have read his comments on another forum and I honestly pity him for his ignorance and lack of compassion for the situation of others. What goes around will eventually come around.

FPV is strictly limited here in Scandinavia and nearly impossible to fly FPV without getting in trouble.
The Aviation Authorities are trying to regulate the size and where to fly our models.
And don't shoot the messenger. :) I have nothing to do with the video!

A very good friend of mine (NYPD) said no coordination was ever made on those flights, however, he said nuts are always flying FPV and or just RC's through the streets of NYC. Usually, the pilot gets his ars kicked and his model trashed by "by standers". Luckly this has not shuffled down to us yet. I did here, a few guys are headed over to Aussie land to get some footage of their silver colored bridge...I think they said something about NVG flights and touch and goes off the roofs of the Aussie police cars. [popcorn] hhhmmmmm.
