Aerial Photo Contest #2

THEME: Water


The rules:
Photo must be taken by the entrant, FROM an electric R/C craft (plane or heli)
Photo must be taken DURING the contest period (April 14 - 28)
this means NEW PHOTOS ONLY. You may not enter a photo you have already posted in the forum.
MINOR RETOUCHING is OK
cropping, tonal adjustments, sharpening, noise reducing
MAJOR RETOUCHING is NOT OK
cloning, superimposed backgrounds, etc.
Photos must be posted at 800x600 (or very close) resolution
Photo must adhere to the THEME of the contest

I just got my Aiptek 1.3 SD in the mail yesterday. Got the switch programmed and its all working. Stopping by staples after work to get a 256MB SD card... maybe I'll be able to enter one of these :) Excellent theme btw.

Photo description - Here lies the Cedar River which runs through Cedar Rapids, IA. Towards the middle of the photograph you will see a building on an island. This is the Court House/jail, if I am not mistaken, Cedar Rapids is the only city in the USA to have City Hall on an island.

Here's my feeble attempt at an entry:

Name: Matt Smith(no, really!)

Photo Description: Taken on the base leg of my landing approach, this picture shows the un-named lake(we'll call it Lake Tilcon, since it's a Tilcon Quarry) that occupies the former limestone quarry on the north side of the road that provides access to our flying field.

Photo Date: April 28, 2006, approx. 6:45PM(what can I say, I like to procrastinate?!)

Aircraft: Mini Telemaster(aka minitelephoto)

Camera: stock Aiptek 1.3SD pencam with HS-55 servo shutter trigger.

I tried to get in on this but all 3 times I went to fly it was just too windy to fly at the spot I wanted. Well theres always next time I guess.

Sorry,I forgot the details while figuring out how to post. Aircraft- The Shot Getter single boom pusher. AXI 2808/24, Jeti 30 amp, 2100mah lipo, 9x4.5 apc slow flyer prop exquisitly balanced. Shot taken with power on. Taken- Around 2:00pm 4/28/06, 65% overcast. wind 4-6 mph. Camera- Nikon 7600 auto mode @ wide angle. Straightened, cropped, contrast adjusted for the overcast as much as possable. Subject- New housing at Ft. Neugent Development,Whidbey Island, Wa. Water is Puget Sound.

Hey Guys-
I Just returned from a rather Short deployment and will be here STATESIDE just outside our nations capital and REALLY Wanna get involved with an Ap Contest. SO...Whats the NEXT One gonna be?...looks like I missed out on the "water" one. Hopefully we can get some cool prizes donated from some manufacturers and Keep this Contest thing rolling on UP!....Good luck guys and Keep Flyin!
