hey all-loving the site.

i had e-flight's ultimate, the profile foamie. it flew very well, but unfortunatley i totaled it. after about 10 flights it has its own weight in epoxy holding it together. i was looking at the new FX, and it looks sweet. i want to get a flat out, but my dad pays the bills n he doesnt seem to like the idea of another foamie to trash around. my question is whether i can use the e-flight 370 outrunner i was using in my old foamie on the new FX. i gotta bad feeling it will be under-powered and draw too much current, but can anybody give me some hints?? i have a good castle ceations speed control and the motor is beautiful, I jst don't know if it will work!!

EV,
The FX is a foamy as well. It is just simply molded foam. The result is going to be more extensive repairs on the FX over a profile foamy in the event of a mishap, so that is something to consider.
That aside, the 370 outrunner will fly it, however it will be a bit anemic. It calls for a geared 370 or 400 outrunner. I would think you will not be happy with the performance on that motor.

build it light, and your 370 will suffice, you won't get the blistering vertical of a 400 setup, but it won't be slow :)

If you want something you can use the 370 on, and crash as many times as you want without major repairs, check out the R3D trainer at www.e-foamies.com or www.3dhobbyshop.com ... it isn't a typical trainer, its capable of some wild 3d, but it is virtually indestructable, it flexes instead of breaking, but still flies good...
