I got this small outrunner to put on some FFF projects I'm building. I'm currently running a 2S 1200MAH eTech lipo with a 1047 prop and it seems to have plenty of power. I'm wondering how high I can prop it without harming the motor. From the specs, looks like it has 25W of power. I'll need to weigh my plane to see what the AUW is.

I'm still a bit confused about the relationship between power, RPM, thrust and speed and how that relates to prop pitch.

Ideas?

If the max power rating is only 25W that means that you shouldn't prop it for more than 3.5A - 4A. You need to get a Whattmeter or similar to measure what it is drawing with the 10x4.7 - that will let you know whether or not you can go up in prop size.

Cheers, Phil

Right. I weighed it and it comes in AUW at 11oz. It does fly well with the 1047 and the motor is just warm when I land, so that seems to be ok. I'll put the whattmeter to it and see what it's drawing. Thanks Dr.
