Hi Everyone

Have just built my very first 3D model (Mini 3DX) and took it's first flight tonight. The model flew well but at low speed has a tendency to corkscrew to the left requiring a large amount of right aileron trim to fly level. This tendendy increases as more power is applied. On investigation I found that whilst I had kept the wing flat during building, the wing had developed a warp (The Wing is made of 3mm Depron with a 3mm strip of flat carbon strip along the front and rear edges). Does anyone have any ideas how to correct a warp in Depron?

Regards
Paul

Probably the easiest way is to put a piece of tape diagonally on the wing to apply some tension against the wrap. See the attached image! The tape would be the red lines…

You might have to experiment a bit before you get the right tension on the tape and get your wing flat ;)

Thanks for the advise, will give it a go tomorrow and let you know if it works. Have attached a photo of the Mini 3DX. Paul

Paul:
Couple of ways. Monocoat or household iron to heat it and bend in the right direction plus a bit. May have to do it more than once to get a handle on it but works well. Other way is to put struts on it like the shockys. Made from carbon fibre or bamboo skewers. From the centre bottom of the fuse to halfway out to the tip of the wing attached at the leading edge and trailing edge of the wing. I use hot glue. Hope this isn't to confusing. Before the glue hardens, pull the wing in the right direction to take the warp out of it.
