Great video, and great flying. I guess I will have to get a foamie now! I have access to 2 large gyms as a retired school employee, so winter won't keep me grounded. Thanks for the inspiration.

WoW! some really excellent flying in the clip! Can you please provide me with technical info on the Shocky Edge 540 that features in the video (about 1/2 way)- would love to know what equipment & setup has been used - also position of CG etc.

Ikarus Shock Flyer, Jeti 8 amp Speedy, 830 3 cell lipo, HS55 or HS56 servos, Axi 2208/34 brushless motor, Dual rates with more than maximum on High rate, at least 60% expo, C of G in the range of Ikarus Specifications but not to tail heavy.
engine must have up thrust and right thrust, engine is mounted to a Hitec servo disc which is notched and set back in the fuselage for just enough prop clearance. The rest is just practice and be prepared to go through a number of shockies. When we started it was nothing to go through two a night. We push each other past our limits to try things.

Thanks for the feedback - will definitely try that sort of setup - interesting about the 'up' thrust. I dont however quite understand your explanation regarding the Servo disc - please give a clearer explanation
Thanks!

Here is what to mount the brushless motor to on the Ikarus Shockflyer.Slot a Hitec Servo disc horn and set back in the fuselage so there is enough prop clearance. Epoxy this disc into the foam and the run the triangle balsa supplied up to the Hitec disc and epoxy to the disc and the fuselage. Your motor will never come out

These planes have been crashed many times but the engine mount and front of the plane survives.
