Diary...
Finally I got to fly my Old Rubber powered Curtiss O-52 converted to Eletric...
What a plane... she used to fly very good on rubber power...
but now man...that“s the real thing...
beeing able to control and manuver that plane... specially on take offs and landing manuvers its the orgas...m of the angels...
I don“t know...
but I consider my self and all that were born in the decade of 1940“s to be...
Son“s of AirWar ... Lord... we are different... we got to have a Prop...in our nose...
Some technical data:
Converted from rubber powered to RC electric, Curtiss 0-52.
Made of balsa and paper (Stick and Tisue).
This curtiss has a wing span of 32 inches and weights 177 grams, and is equiped with an Feigao Bl motor with a A gws gear, and a 3 blade 9X7 prop, using a feigao esc,Lipo 2s 800mha battery, uses 2 Blue Bird servos and a MikroDesigns SPF-5-rxo full range receiver.
And it flies every week end at the New Campćo in Sćo Paulo...

The Flight...

Pic1- Prior to the flight all the ajustments... and opinions... and... Uau... what a plane...

Pic2- A little pose before the flight test.

Pic3- Ok... fire one rilley...

Pic4- Keep that climb angle steady...

Pic5- We are free from mother earth... "airborne"...

Pic6- What a view... look out for those NDB towers...

Pic7- Climb and maintain 700 ft...

pic8- Keep it in the flight pattern...

Pic9- Keep cool steady on the flight pattern

Pic10- Ok... we are on final aproach... lets bring her in for landing..What“s that up ahead... looks like the runway is blocked by someone...

Pic11- Steady as she goes...Keep that nose in the right position... and watch that air speed indicator...

Pic12- Hei mister... escuse us... we are on a final aproach here... and about to land this baby...

Pic13- "New Campćo Tower..." "This is Charlie Oscar dash 52... and we“re about to touch down at the New Campćo Airfield runway..."

Pic14- Uhuuuuu....!...Keep that nose up... and throtlle down...

Pic15- Power off... master off.. sorry about that Mister... "Charlie Oscar over and out..." "have a good day sir.." hey buddy... what you say... another mission acomplished uh ???

That's a lovely little aeroplane and a terrific photo essay to go along with it! :cool:

I particularly like the inflight with the buildings in the background.

Way don't you try a real big one?
