I just thought I'd post some shots of my latest "Old Timer" model.

She's a 52" span 1937 Dallaire Sportster. It is powered with a 6v. 400 geared 3/1 turning a 9X6 prop. The battery is an 8 X 750 mahr Nimh cell pack. AUW. is 18.5 oz.

Enjoy

Enjoy it I did. Magnificent bird! :)

If it flies half as good as it looks, it must be a sight for sore eyes while in flight! Love your color scheme. :)

Qban,
Nice looking it is and a succesful flyer. Great to see those old timers.
Here's one that I completed for a fuel flyer that wanted an entry electric but didn't know how to "electrifly".

Spirit of Yesteryear's 55" "Dallaire Sportster" using a Robbe PowerPlus 410/12 brushed motor with a 1500 mah Lithium-Poly 3s1p battery.
Direct drive swinging a 8x4.5 Graupner CAM folding prop. AUW is 18 ounces, wing loading at 6.7 ounces. 96 watts of power and estimated flight time of 15 minutes at half-power.

"Slightly" overpowered, but it was what I had on the shelf at the time. Don't intend to burn up the skies with it, just nice low throttle cruising.

Hasn't maidened yet. Waiting for the builder to take it up.

Happy flying,
Don

DonOne thing these old timers possess in spades is character. They are distinguished looking, they have class! :)

Great success!
Throttle set at 100% (max would be 150% on the JR transmitter).
Hand launched and it flew right off, no problems.
Power off...the 8x4.5 folding prop worked, and she sailed along nicely, looking great. No trimming necessary.
Brought her down after six minutes then tried an ROG of the grass.
She lifted off, after two seconds and took to the air majestically.
Did some passes for the video camera then landed with a hard bounce.
The wire gear sprung her up, then came down without any damage.
Very surprised!!
This is one sweet plane.
Will post the video later.
Happy flying!
Don
