Does anyone know if my Dad's G3 USB radio unit is capapble of being used as a student radio on the end of a trainer cord?

I know the unit is a futaba, and my radio is a futaba, and I've seen a picture of it linked to another radio someplace on the web. I am trying to find the cheapest way to get a trainer-cord set-up for him using the gear we already have (my Futaba 7C, and his Futaba USB controller).

Thanks. Andy

Many of US have older 4-channel Futaba radios for sale, that would work perfectly as a trainer box (with the correct buddy cord). I've got a Conquest FP-T4NBF Transmitter on FM channel 30 for sale over at RCU, $18.50 plus around $11 shipping. The channel number doesn't matter for the trainee box - you could remove the crystal completely for that purpose. http://tinyurl.com/68uc44
