I've been having problems with my new Astro 20 Geared 803G system cutting off. Too much juice! My first test had a 10X8 folding prop. I was advised to go to a smaller prop so I tried a 10x7, then a 10x6. Today, I tried a 9.5x6 and it's getting better. Tomorrow, I'll try a 9X6.

Am I using the right reduction sequence, or should I go down to a 10X5 prop?

When would I know if I am getting too small?

Thanks!

I would monitor the amp draw with each prop on a freshly charged battery and compare that to what the battery is rated. What is the amp rating on the esc and battery? What is the gear ratio?

Amp rating of ESC: 25 A

Amp rating of Battery: 15 A

Gear rato: 3.3 to 1

According to Astroflight using a 11x7=20A; 10x7=15A; and 10x5=12.5A

My Easy Flight's motor cut off with a 11x7 folding prop; a 10x7;a 10x6; and now a 9.5x6. I'm thinking of trying a 9x6 tomorrow.

It sounds like your battery is causing your esc. to cut out ond low voltage
to me!
