I've been having problems with my new Astro 20 Geared 803G system cutting off. Too much juice! My first test had a 10X8 folding prop. I was advised to go to a smaller prop so I tried a 10x7, then a 10x6. Today, I tried a 9.5x6 and it's getting better. Tomorrow, I'll try a 9X6.

Am I using the right reduction sequence, or should I go down to a 10X5 prop?

When would I know if I am getting too small?

Thanks!

You really need to use a Whattmeter or similar device to actually measure what current you are drawing, and what voltage your pack is maintaining.
When the current reached a level just below the rated max for the motor, and at which the voltage remains above your ESC's cut off limit - then you have got the correct size prop.
