Alright, since I have so many pics, I decided to create another thread for us on speedy internet and the other for our friends on dial-up.

First off, I used to BroncoPilot. I had a stalker on another R/C site that threatened to find me on all the sites I was on. Big thanks to admin for helping me and changing my name and another big thanks to Mike Parsons for changing it back.

Back on topic. July 27th we left our home in savage and headed to Green Lake, WI where our campground was. On our way, I realized that Wisconsin was the only state that had advertisements with cheese in every one of them. There was beer & cheese, gas & cheese, macaroni & cheese, oh wait, that's normal. Anyways, I saw some really weird stuff such as this.

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g310/zillaatthelockin/weirdsconsin.jpg

An old Ford truck floating on a raft in the middle of a pond.

I'm stumped as to what to say to that.

But anyways, we got to our campground about 7:00p.m. and played some mini golf and then hit the hay.

The next morning we woke about 8:00, had breakfast, got dressed and put everything away and hopped in the ram. On the way we could tell about 20 minutes into the drive, we knew that we were getting close when cessnas, piper cubs, mustangs, hellcats and all sorts of planes were flying over us. We knew we were even closer when we saw helicopters, B25s, B17s and a Ford Tri-motor flying over head. This is what we saw.

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g310/zillaatthelockin/plane2.jpg

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g310/zillaatthelockin/copter.jpg

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g310/zillaatthelockin/plane.jpg

There was also a plane sky writing and traffic slowed to a dead stop.

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g310/zillaatthelockin/skywrite.jpg

We got into the air field and we saw a sea of planes as far as the eye can see.

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g310/zillaatthelockin/inkosh.jpg

But before that was a sea of cars and trucks about 5 football fields wide by 5 football fields long.

Grr, traffic.

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g310/zillaatthelockin/backup.jpg

It took about a half hour to get to the gate for parking and about another 15 minutes to walk to the main gate. But it was well worth it even in the 95 degree heat. We got to the gate and my dad renewed his EAA membership and we were in. We started off towards the warbirds. But we had to get to the runway because the Blue Angels were going to do a flyby. We got our spot and watched them fly overhead.

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g310/zillaatthelockin/comingangels.jpg

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g310/zillaatthelockin/angels.jpg

They did a few rounds and flew off. We then headed back towards the military aircraft. I am big into military jets and old bombers. The A10 warthog is my favorite plane, ever since I was 3. We got there and there was a massive cargo jet. A C15 or C17, I forget what it was. But it was like seeing a beached whale. Next to it was a B1 bomber which would take off later that day. We headed left and saw a B17 in superb condition. I had to get a few pics of that! We turned to the left and I saw two A10s lined up heading towards the runway. I ran over to them and took in their beauty. I snapped a few pics and drooled. But then we headed towards the ultra-lights which is what my dad would like to get one day. We saw a few that intrested us.

But then, I heard the A10s roar to life and spotted them taxiing. I ran to the edge of the field and took my spot. As the rest caught up, the A10s were ready to take off.

I then switched my camera to movie mode and took a movie which I'm going to put on youtube later.

But I did get a few pics of them flying by.

After they did a few flybys, we were ready to go back to the truck and eat lunch when I looked up and spotted two F15 Eagles flying side by side overhead. I wasn't quick enough to get a pic of the overhead, but they circled around and came by again. Again I got some sweet pics.

Then they both came in and landed.

Then two more military jets came around and I have no idea what they were.

http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g310/zillaatthelockin/IDK.jpg

So after the unknown plane landed, we headed back to the truck, but on the way, I spotted the tail of the B1 moving down the taxiway. We grabbed a spot and I started taking pics.

So we're sitting there and the announcer says the B1 will be taking off at 2:30 and it's 1:30. So I would like to stay , but everyone else didn't want to.

So we ate lunch in the bed of the truck when we heard the B1s engines roar to life. We were to late to catch it take off so we stayed near the truck. It flew off and circled back and I got a pic.

And then it banked right to come around again.

It did another and then I got my bro to take a vid with my mom's cam which has sound. I took a pic and it was AMAZING! The thing climbed at a 45 degree angle doing an amazing speed and the sound shook you and it was so awesome!

So we're heading back to the Ford tent because my brother wants to climb on the climbing wall. So we get there and Roush had a shelby stang on the dyno doing the quarter mile. Me and my dad got hats and stayed to watch some guy do the quarter mile. He couldn't shift worth a darn and got 18.5. OUCH!

But when we got outside, an A10 and F15 were parked right outside. Man, I HAD TO GET PICS!

I then got a pic of that C15/17 (don't really know which) cargo jet.

Oh, and I spotted this for you firemanbill.

So then it was time for the airshow! We grabbed our spot, refilled our water bottles and sat on a fence. They started it off with a pylon race.

After the planes were done, Duggy (DC3) dropped some parachuters with american flags attached to them and they floated to the ground while playing I'm proud to be an american.

After that, they had a pitts and a few more planes do some stunts which I have vids and more pics of which I'll post up later.

Then they had the Aeroshell warbird team do stunts.

The loop

Then they started flying all sorts of planes. They brought a flyby of a corsair, a MIG and to F18A Hornets.

The last flying corsair.

They then brought in a whole lot of foriegn jets from russia and such.

Then they went nuts.

They started sending up plane after plane after plane. Warbirds, bombers, anything vintage you can imagine was flying. There had to be at least 40 if not 50 planes flying all at once within the airfield. It was insane! I just randomly snapped a pic.

Then they started to fly in formations. There was an awesome amount of planes in a single formation. Here is the biggest formation there was.

And a few more formation fleets.

Then the bombers took over. Only the warbirds and bombers were in the sky and they rigged up explosives to look like bomb drops. I didn't get any explosions on camera, yet a did get a video. I did whoever miss the wall of fire. There was a consession stand in my way.

Here's a B17 flying through the smoke.

And a fleet of bombers.

And the fallen man tribute.

I have loads of pics, just not enough time to upload them all. Vids I will put up later, probably tomorrow if not tongiht. It was a great time! I stayed friday and saturday and left for chipewaa falls sunday and then went to duluth monday.

Stay tuned for updates!

Thanks for looking!!!!!

Those are freakin sweet. I didn't realise that there were so many warbirds at Oshkosh. I thought it was mostly a big civilian aircraft / experimental event. I'm definately going to try to go next year now.

Sure thing!

It was a blast and although oshkosh airventure is put on by the EAA, there are alot of warbirds, military aircraft and lots of everthing! A good amount of the planes there were flown in from civilians (sorry if that's speeled wrong), but in the middle of it all, there's alot to see!! It is definitly worth it! Even in the high 90 degrees weather! :D

I'll try and get more pics and some pics for our friendly dial up users!
