Well yesterday was a little spooky.

Nearly 10 tornadoes touched down near us within a 5 mile radius. It looked like it was 9:00pm at noon time. Sirens were going off everywhere and it started to hail the size of softballs and then it started pooring so hard that you couldn't see 5ft in front of you. However when it did calm down, we could see the street and we live on a slope and water was flowing and the water was about half an inch deep. Winds were reaching 20mph, guess flying was out of the question. :)

Got a few pics of the backyard.

That looks spooky!! Like Don said, glad you and yours made it through it without and trouble. 3 years ago a baby tornado passed by my next door neighbors house. It picked up his kids Rainbow playground set an toss it rite back down in the same spot it was sitting on. It looked like a bunch of Hugh toothpicks. There wasn't any other damage, thank God.

Checked out the weather channel site last night to see if I'd be able to fly today and I noticed that storm was generally heading this way. They said we'd be getting scattered T-storms today but the winds would be 3-5 mph. They lied, it's cloudy with 13-17 mph gusts. :(

Thanks all, later that night I stopped by a friends house and it was non-stop lightning in the distance. It was just one lightning bolt after another.

CTD, that must've been scary! Glad to hear everything went alright though!

We drove to go get some milk from the gas station nearby and there were trees and such down. It definitly wasn't a good day for flying. :D

Yep, Gotta love life in the Alley! I'm in Joplin, MO. Three years ago I was taking pictures of a tornado from my front porch. When it was all said and done, 2 people died and a major part of a small town 5 miles away was gone. We had 9 tornadoes in the area that night.
