Anybody fly one? How are they? I know they arent a true "hotliner", but more of a warmliner. That is just fine with me, since this would be my first plane of this type! It seems to be rather inexpensive compared to the true hotliners out there. I am not looking for the fastest, or newest airfoils and designs. I just want something that would be pretty quick and fun to fly.

I do not have one but I have seen a few of the Sirens fly. The 2m wingspan is great for nice stable landings and ease of seeing when flying. With the right power system it will climb pretty fast. It does not retain energy as well as some of the true hotliners after pulling out of a dive. However, this helps on landing so that you do not overshoot your landing area. Overall it appears to be a great value and I think it would fit what you are looking for.

I have Siren and as Jason said it doent retain energy like some true hotliners but it flys well. I have also had some really long thermal flights with it. I am using an AXI 2826-8 and it climbs, just a dot in the sky in 10 seconds.

Flyinb,

What battery and prop are you using with this and what amps are you drawing?

My first choice was originally a siren. The more I read the more i thought I should keep looking. I also looked at the Ion. It also had wing folding/flexing issues (the ion 2006 is supposed to be better). There are some large, very informative threads at rcg in High performance that are good reads. I finally decided on the FVK Bandit. It is a reputedly excellent entry level hotliner. Mine got here a couple days ago. Beautiful ship and the wings seem impossible to break (some guys have tried)! Axi 2826/08, CC80, maxamps 3s 4000HV and 3s2p CSRC 4200's, graupner 42/5/8 spinner w/13x7 folder (to start).

Have fun with whatever you choose. This is going to be a blast! :)
