Yes it was a great design back in 1940 and still is.
No I don't have it anymore but will get the 2006 version, when budget allows. Guess inflation isnt too bad for this model, eh?
Happy flying,
Don

I have an old Sparky kit stashed away, but if anyone is interested
about two years ago their was a thread on converting one to electric.
If you Google RC Groups you should be able to find it. Cecil

I just love the looks of those. The elliptical tips on the wings/tails. I guess that is why I love the Rascal so much as well.

Mike, if you like ellipticals try Goldbergs Clipper, Zipper, Sailplane
and Valkyre. He also designed the original Rascal when he was at
Top Flite. These models are still popular in F/F and Antique meets.
Most are 65 year old designs, but pretty. Cecil

Probably my thread you'r thinking of Cecil? I posted a build of the Sparky on the RC-Groups about then.
Also this one on this forum - http://www.wattflyer.com/forums/showthread.php?t=6135

My Sparky with a home made brushles motor after I found the GWS-IPS motor would not fit without some serious mods to the structure.

LiPo's are two 350mA cells and the current draw is 2A full throttle.

Other model in the photo is my electric Baby Bombshell (1/2A size Buzzard Bombshell)

Total flying weight of the Sparky is a tad over 5oz and flies just like the rubber one. A fantastic model to "guide" around on a calm day.

Hi Don,

I just noticed this thread. I posted some photos of my 2X Sparky today in another thread. I like it so much I'm going to build the original 32" for FF rubber.

Don the Thunder Tiger "Sparky" is not the same airplane as the Comet
"Sparky". Not the size difference, but total design difference. The TT "Sparky" is a nice looking plane. Cecil
