Advice on Flexible Power System

I've been flying foamies in the 30-36in w.s. range for the past 8-9 months. Finally got past the point of "Can I bring this back home in 1 piece?" flying to be able to concentrate on some moves and style points! I'm looking to move up a bit in size, now.I REALLY like the looks of the 3DHS 41 in Edge, but thinking I may go with a similar sized foamie (Kalteisen Extra 260) first to get in some more "bounceability". before my first balsa plane.Trying to put together a power package that would work for both and not break the (very fragile) bank. I've got a Turnigy 3536C motor, thinking about matching that with a T-Plush or Mystery 40A esc, 1800 mah 3s batteries, and EMax metal gear servos. Any ideas or feedback on my tentative plan would be a great help. Thanks, guys.:D

That will work fine on a lot of planes, here is a list of planes and props you can use for the Turnigy 3536C motor. and welcome to Wattflyers, Chellie

Thanks, Chellie! I've been reading a lot around here, and seen some of your work. You design/build some REALLY sweet planes. Do ya think I'm O.K. with the 40A esc? I noticed the tester on the link was using a 60A. Really don't want to fry anything! Appreciate the help.:D

get the Turnigy 60 amp esc, you cant go wrong, and it will run cooler and be more versatile  Thank you for the complement :$ I try to keep up with the Big Boys :D Take care, Chellie

Yeah, the 60A makes a lot of sense. Thanks again for the input.

That's good advice from Chellie and it sounds like you are progressing well. Flying the size of model you are is actually more difficult than flying larger models. Larger models are obviously easier to see and tend to fly/roll slower so are easier to fly. They also fly better in wind and don't tend to be influenced by air currents as much as smaller models. Your motor/esc setup will cope easily with 60 inch wingspan models up to 2.5-3 pounds weight so there are loads you can choose from. Just remember not to try to run before you can walk and I'm sure you will have lots of fun.

Good Luck.;-)
