What to do with E-Flight Apprentice parts
Hello every one, I've been wondering what to do with the spare parts I have of a good plane I learned to fly with. I purchased an E-Flight Apprentice 15E a couple years ago and learned to fly on it... since then Ive moved on to many aerobatics and even giant scale gassers. Last year the apprentice was crashed by a friend of mine that was learning to fly also and now I have all the parts of the plane just sitting around. I checked them after the crash.. the Eflight 15 outrunner motor is in perfect condition after I repaired it, the ESC works perfect, all the servos are A-OK and the battery (3200Mah 3 cell) is in perfect contidion also. THe wing of the plane was spared in the crash so i may not have to construct another wing.
This is where I'm asking for ideas and help now... if you guys had all this extra great condition equipment sitting around and wanted to start a new project with it what would you do? Im open to all ideas...scratch or arf, scale, aerobatic, glider, with the wing of the E-flight Apprentice or with out it... even VTOL ideas... anything.. wood, foam materials... I am kind of leaning towards a simple build if possible... maybe the largest plane I could build with a .15 electric outrunner... any ways let the ideas fly and lets hear em! thanks guys in advance for all the great stuff! |

Or, you could sell the whole lot. How much do you want for all of it?
|
Thats really cool Bill! thanks for the idea.
|
Turner I may also sell it, really dont know how much its all worth. Let me tell you exactly what I have. All the servos, the motor and ESC, the wing, the battery (the battery has a dent in it but it works fine), and the spektrum Dx5 that came with it. Let me know what you think its worth and I may part with it, even though I really do want to build something around that powerplant.

Well I don't have any interest in the DX5 as I already have one. Not really sure what the rest of it is worth to me but I am interested.
In the mean time, have a look at this vidoe of an Apprentice turned glider. |
That is super cool Turner! I love that vid thanks for posting. Where was that flight at? Seemed really windy. Great idea with with apprentice parts.

He is in Sydney, Australia. Here are his posts on RCG about it.

I would love to make something similar to a Cessna 208 Caravan like this http://www.cessna.com/caravan/grand-...imensions.html
Just need to find if any one has something similar to it. I really like that plane and seems it would be a fun simple build. |
Any new ideas for a glider using Apprentice wing? I like your idea Turner, could you expand on how to make it?
- THanks guys! |
